Meraki

(meh-RAH-kee)

A Greek word meaning “to do something with soul, creativity, and love—to leave a piece of yourself in your work.”

Founded with a whole-person approach to care

Meraki Integrative Medicine was founded by Mary Mitchell, DNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-C—a doctorally prepared, dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

After nearly a decade in primary and urgent care, Mary saw how closely mental health, physical health, hormones, sleep, stress, and daily life are connected and how often they are treated separately. She created Meraki to bring the full picture back into the conversation.

As a first-responder wife and a mother of two, soon to be four, Mary understands the realities of busy families, high-stress careers, and seasons of life when caring for yourself can feel especially difficult.

Meraki is an NP-led practice grounded in thoughtful, personalized care. Every patient is seen as a whole person, not simply a diagnosis or a prescription with care that is collaborative, evidence-informed, and designed around what matters most to you.

THE MERAKI APPROACH

Listen → Understand → Personalize → Evolve

Founder

Mary Mitchell is a doctorally prepared, dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Meraki Integrative Medicine.

After nearly a decade working in primary and urgent care, Mary saw firsthand how closely mental health and physical health are connected and how often they are treated separately. That experience inspired her to create Meraki: a practice where patients receive thoughtful psychiatric care that considers the whole person.

Mary's approach combines psychiatric expertise with a strong medical foundation. She considers not only psychiatric symptoms, but also physical health, medications, sleep, stress, hormonal changes, lifestyle, and other factors that may influence how a patient feels.

She provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and perinatal mental health concerns. She has a particular interest in women's mental health throughout hormonal and life transitions, as well as supporting first responders and their families.

As a first-responder wife and mother, Mary also understands the realities of demanding careers, busy families, and seasons of life when prioritizing your own well-being can be difficult.

Her goal is to provide a space where patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their treatment.

Daylin Chaplin, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-C

Lead Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Daylin Chaplin is a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 10 years of experience as a nurse practitioner.

Her extensive clinical background and dual certification in family medicine and psychiatric mental health allow her to approach psychiatric care with an understanding of the important connection between physical and emotional well-being.

Daylin provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care. She takes a thoughtful and collaborative approach to treatment, considering each patient's symptoms, medical history, previous treatment experiences, lifestyle, and individual goals when developing a plan of care.

She believes patients should understand their treatment options and feel comfortable asking questions about medications, potential side effects, alternatives, and next steps. Her goal is to make treatment a partnership rather than simply telling patients what they should do.

Daylin works with patients experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, sleep concerns, and other psychiatric conditions.

As Lead Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Meraki, Daylin also works closely with Mary and the clinical team to support collaboration, continuity of care, and a consistent patient experience throughout the practice.

Outside of work, Daylin enjoys reading, hiking, spending time with her family, and spending time with her two golden retrievers.

Her goal is simple: for every patient to feel heard, respected, and supported while finding a treatment plan that works for their life.

The Meraki Team

Joanna Bielin, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-C

Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Joanna Bielin is a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who brings a whole-person perspective to psychiatric care.

With training in both family medicine and mental health, Joanna recognizes that emotional well-being does not exist separately from physical health. Her approach considers psychiatric symptoms alongside medical conditions, medications, sleep, stress, lifestyle, and other factors that may influence how a patient feels.

Joanna provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing follow-up care. She believes treatment should be individualized and collaborative, with patients actively involved in understanding their options and determining the approach that best supports their goals.

Her warm, thoughtful approach is centered on creating a comfortable environment where patients can openly discuss their concerns and feel supported throughout treatment.

Joanna's goal is to help patients better understand their mental health and work together toward greater stability, functioning, and overall well-being.

An NP-Led Practice

Meraki is an NP-led practice built around thoughtful, collaborative, whole-person care. Our board-certified nurse practitioners bring expertise in both medical and psychiatric care, allowing them to look beyond a diagnosis and consider the many factors that can influence how you feel.

Our NPs are trained to evaluate, diagnose, prescribe medications, and manage treatment, while considering the connection between mental health, physical health, sleep, lifestyle, and overall well-being.

We take the time to listen, understand your concerns, and work with you to create an individualized care plan. Treatment is never one-size-fits-all, instead, it evolves with you through ongoing follow-up, collaboration, and thoughtful adjustments along the way.
